Control of the mouflon population - restrictions in the National Park

For safety reasons, while mouflon population control operations are under way in the Teide National Park, members of the public are prohibited from entering or being present in the National Park, apart from certain paths, viewpoints and areas to which access is permitted, as shown in this image, and which you can check here.

On what dates will the mouflon population control operation take place?

The mouflon population control operation will be carried out during two separate periods:

  • From 6/5/2019 to 3/6/2019
  • From 2/10/2019 to 30/10/2019

Which trails cannot be accessed during the population control operation, and what is the schedule?

During the periods mentioned above, members of the public may not access or be present on the following trails on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays:

  • Siete Cañadas sector: from 7.00am until 2.00pm
  • Pico Viejo sector: from 7.00am until 5.00pm
