Important road closure information

RESURFACING WORK ON THE TF-51 ROAD, ON THE LA ESCALONA - VILAFLOR SECTION BETWEEN KILOMETRE POINT 12+500 AND KILOMETRE POINT 17+250 (C-1062)

Please be advised that on 3 September work will begin laying asphalt on road TF-51, between kilometre points 12+500 and 17+250. Due to the layout of the road, which is narrow, and has no verges, the road will be FULLY CLOSED every day between 8.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m., Monday - Friday inclusive.

Vehicles travelling uphill will find the road closed at La Escalona, and will be diverted onto the TF-565, accessing Vilaflor/Teide by road TF- 563. Vehicles travelling downhill will find the road closed at the intersection of the TF-51 with the TF-21, and will continue their journey along the TF-21.

Due to the large number of bus stops along this stretch of road, necessitated by the geography of the centres of population, TITSA guaguas (buses) will be allowed through so that, driving carefully, they can continue to serve the public and avoid further inconvenience. The same will apply to school transport buses.

The closure will take effect every day, with normal traffic flow resuming at the end of the working day and over the weekends. It is expected that the works will last for 3 weeks.
